Hub Plumbing Company, Inc. has roots that grow deep in Crown Point history. Named after the Hub city, which Crown Point is called since it is the county seat, has been a part of the city for more than 64 years. In 1946 Fred Heisterberg purchased Houk Bros. Plumbing Company - his two sons, Ervin & Harold began the business on Joliet St. (where part of Centier Bank now stands) in Crown Point and renamed it Hub Plumbing Company.

In 1951 they built their present location at 1121 North Main St. Crown Point. Son-in-law James R. Haag began working there in 1961, after serving 5 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired in 2004. Son James A. Haag started his plumbing career in 1979 and now serves as President & owner.
